As anticipated by us earlier in the year from talk around the industry, F4F have indeed finally released their second statue in the Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker line. Sitting at 25″ tall from the tip of the mast to the base, this beautifully sculpted and rendered with a mix between the classic cel shaded look and a more realistic approach as you can see from the dry brushing around Link and the King himself. Check them out below. You can also check out a making of video above!
The sail itself is made of cloth and is positioned to look as if being blown. The whole piece sits atop of a ocean like base as the ship sails through it into the great unknown. The exclusive version of this actually has a light up feature in which the ocean itself pulses with light. Perhaps because Link has found yet another deep sea treasure!
Based on the cult classic for the Nintendo Gamecube, The Wind Waker made a lot of waves when originally revealed. Touted as too cartoony and childish due to the style they took especially after The Ocarina of Time, many fans panned it at the start. Yet it’s this same style that has aged better than most games of it’s time period and now revered as one of the best in the series. I for one have always loved the Wind Waker game and even purchased the HD remake a year or so ago.
The King of Red Lions is scheduled to be released some time in the second quarter of 2017.
Ironically it is not licensed to be sold in Japan. Poor guys.
