This year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences have partnered up with “Wallace and Gromit” creators, Aardman Animation, for a special “behind the scenes” panel and talk on the UK based studio.
As part of the Siggraph special conferences, the talk will include Aardman’s co-founder David Sproxton and cinematographer Dave Alex Redditt as they speak about the history of the studio and many of their celebrated works.
The panel will touch on the current and evolving techniques and what the future will hold for stop-motion animation.
The conference will take place on Sunday August 9th at the L.A. Convention Center and will be listed as:
Cracking Animation: Behind the Scenes with Aardman
9 August, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
To top it off, the Academy will screen some Wallace and Gromit Oscar winning shorts, “A Close Shave” and “The Wrong Trousers” plus Oscar nominated shorts “A Matter of Loaf and Death” and “A Grand Day Out” at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood at 1pm off site from the convention center.
This will be a great opportunity to listen in on the process and trials and tribulations of a great animation studio so you don’t want to miss it.
